i had anemone that i thought was a lta but i think it turned out it was a condylctis? it was purple in color, when i asked the lfs they said it was a condy and that is why my clown wouldnt host in it bc they was from two different parts. could this be true?
i got a true orange base lta and it looks totally different than the purple one that i thougt was a lta.
also what is the best thing to feed these guys?

Condies are well known for eating fish . LTAs always bury their foot in sand which is one thing you can tell from others . It is very unlikely your clown would accept the condy but it has happened . LTAs are generally brown/tannish Brown, Gray, and Purple colors , but when under actinic and other lighting they can get a green or purple color to them from the light reflecting off them . I feed all my anemones silversides and table shrimp . A few of them have clowns that host them and also feed them when I feed brine, mysis , or formula one frozen foods .

LTA, M. doreensis, can be ID buy the uniformally placed non-adhesive verrucae ( small dots on the underside ) and neatly placed rows of curled tenticals ( all very simularly shaped ) and deep red colored foot ( not column ) among other methods.....heres a few shots of mine that shows some of these traits. I feed my condy silversides as mentioned above with the LTA, But they do mostly feed off light. My research indicates that if it is attached to a rock probably not an LTA. They prefer sand. Although if you have a shallow sandbed this could prove inacurate. As for them and clowns I have asked everyone i can possibly think of. Most people here will tell you that they will almost certainly be eaten. TBH most everyone else (couple other forums, Three LFS, (yes thats iffy but at least one of the three i trust very much they have given me good advise and answers and they don't get commision) and some friends in the hobby, say that most likly they will just ignore each other. Personaly i wasn't going to take the chance but my GF had a suprise for me of three 1" false percs acclimating when i got home today, so we will see. If everything is good this far good chance you won't have problems i would say but i am no expert. Do you know what type of condylactus it is?
here is a condy to compare to (C. gigantia)
