anemones need help

hi i want to get just a basic anemone for my 55g
but i dont think i have a strong enough light its marine glow 40w blue can someone help me

You don't have nearly enough light. Get about 250 watts of light and then maybe, if water conditions are right, you can get an anemone.

thanks caddy but i cant find a light with that many watts and the light bar that i have only holds one bulb and i dont want to
spend the money for a light bar that holds two can you or anybody tell me where i can find a bulb with that many watts

I am guessing that you have the normal light strip that is normal output flourescent. You have to buy all new lighting. There is no bulb you can just buy for what you have. You need at least power compact lighting, preferably vho or metal halide.

I totally agree with 22caddy, your lighting is far short of what you need for an anemone. You will need PC, VHO, T5 or MH lighting with it least 4-5 watts per gallon for most anemones and more for a few of the others. That would put you needing around 250-300 watts.

I only have 2-40 watt 48 in, 1 marine glo and 1 50/50. I have a huge sabae anenome about 10 in and a bulb anenome about 8 in. they are doing fine. so i dont know what to say about lighting, just good luck. :) and a few other corals i got a branching flower pot, candy, fox coral and bubble.
