anemones sting

has anyone been stung by a carpet anemone and what happens when you r stung by one.......is it as bad as being stung by a volitare lion fish or fox fish.....thanks

The owner of my LFS's wife got stung, the darn thing was wrapped around her arm. She had what looked like a rash on her arm for about a week or two. I've never seen a lionfish sting so I can't say how bad those ares

I've been stung by a green carpet that I used to have. It didn't hurt, but it numbed my fingers for a couple of minutes.

I got stung at work about three days ago. It looked a lot worse a couple of days ago, but here is what it looks like today.

Some people are allergic to anemone stings, and will get quite a bad rash! I've been "Stung" many times and it's nothing more than a sticky feeling. I would still wear gloves when handling a carpet, as different people all have different reactions to the nemotocysts.
My LFS owner had quite a reaction to a carpet anemone sting. He had to go to the emergency room becuase his whole arm swelled.
