From what I have read, choc.chip stars will eat them and many corals? Anemones are hard to keep. They need extreme special lighting, and covers on powerheads. You need an extremely mature tank that doesn't have any extreme temp, salinty, etc., swings to it. Please do a lot of research and stick to the tank raised bubble tips if you do get one. Wild caught anemones do very poor in living in captivity and tank raised ones seem to be hardier. Anonomes can wonder around a tank and kill any corals it happens to touch.

and then research, research, and research some more
then when you are done do some more research
anemones are very delicate creatures with special needs, that should outlive us, yet rarely see 6 months in an aquarium, or even a year in the tanks of old vets with well established tanks(i mean 5-10 yr vets with 3+++yr. old tanks)
SORRY, if it sounds repititous, but this is how i feel(strongly) about anemones, however, i will not argue about their beauty or mystisism or other qualities
in fact we want some, but will not until we feel that we can adequately provide for them successfully

Choco stars even eat coraline algae, I do know some people who have had them in reef tanks with no problems.. I'm convinced that in this hobby, nothing is text book and somethings work for some and not for others. As for anemones, I do think that your choco might hurt it, but if you do get one, please ask where ever you buy from if it was tank raised, and also, SWF has great prices and I have a Sebae that is still doing wonderfully since Aug when we bought him.. And I know that he could die any time since they aren't good in captivity.

I have alot of the florida brown colored rock anemones since 1994 and all they do is reproduce. they also live in my filter,the other types of anemones you have more of a chance them not doing good with the conditions of the tank.i gave some to my friend when he had just setup his tank and they lived but just stayed small.
