Anenome dead?

I came home and couldnt find my RBTA... it had been attached in the same place for nearly a month... i took down some rock work and found it pretty shriveled up behind a rock... i got it to let go and put it on the highest point of live rock to hopefully see if the stonger light will bring it back....
will an anenome still attach its foot if it is dead?

if it was dead when you moved it it would have had a slim come of like if it were disingrating and if you lift out of the watter a dead one will have a very fowl oder

tricky to see if they are dead like staited above look for decentigration or a floating anenomie
