Anenome feeding?

I spot feed mine brine shrimp. He's been doing pretty well so far. I also add zooplex and phytoplex to the tank water once a week.

I've never tried to give him squid, I'll have to try that one out. My wife was very surprised the first time I fed him meat, she thought he was a strict filter feeder.

You can feed silversides, shrimp, anything meaty. Brine shrimp really isn't very good unless it is enriched. Mysis is much more beneficial.

I always get the Omega-3 and the Spirulina enhanced brine and alternate between the two, I never get the plain brine.

I agree that frozen brine isn't very good. Even the enriched stuff. Not just because it isn't very nutritious but because of the phosphates in it as preservitives. I never use it.
Anything frozen should be thawed and rinsed in RO water IMO, IME.

Phosphates can also come from decaying matter which is what frozen food can or is becoming.

I have had my purple anenomi for about 5 months and he looks great, although he has never eaten anything. I just put phytoplankton in the tank

Never knew much about preservatives, thanks for the info!
Try feeding your purple anemone some of those meaty foods and see if he likes them :)
