Im lucky with my anenome. It has gone through hell and still lived. Sucked into a filter intake at least a dozen times. Lived with only 20 watts of actinic lighting for 2 months, a week and a half with no lighting, nitrates = 50. no bleaching or losing algae. Fully expanded everyday
now its in a 28g tank with 150 watts light and <10 nitrates and hosted with 2 "sebaes" ( or so the lfs said.)
IMO wait at least 6 months and make sure you keep your nitrates <10 and high output lighting. Keep filters intakes closed off or inaccessable.
My anenome is the rare case, prolly 1 out of a 1,000,000 that would survive what it did. Just wait and make sure you can provide a secure home and do your research.

I have had my tank up for about 4-5 months and i just got my 1st Bubble tip anemone. He is doing great in my tank even though hes hiding in the back of the tank. but make sure your water paramaters are good. ANd check out what kind you want to get and ask if its a good idea. Many people will help you out.

Yeah minimum of 6 months is good to wait. Gives you plenty of time to reseach the type you would like, and to cover the lighting issue. consider your tank depth and amount of liverock and type of substrate.
