can one anenome survive the sting of another anenome, what are the signs that they might have been stung?

A very good question. One I have not thought about before. I've never mixed anemones species before so I have never witnessed it first hand, however I would imagine that another anemone or both if they stung each other would withdraw and shrink up to begin with. Affected areas might deflate at first or puff up and then begin to disintigrate depending on the potency of the sting. I would be interested to know if the zoo inside would be affected as well.
In the end I'm just not sure but am willing to do some research on it.

Thanks I Have 2 Condi Anenome's Only One Is Purple, I Am Waiting On My New Lights To Come In So I Set Both Of Them On The Rocks, On Separate Pieces Of Course, Sometime Lasy Night The Purple One Moved, Which He Had A Lot Of Traveling To Do But He Did It, When I Got Up He Was Right Next To The White One And The White One Was Deflated. So I Moved Him Further Away And Onto The Lower Portion Of The Rock. Before I Left It Looked Like The Other Anenome Was Trying To Come Back Out, I Just Wasnt Sure If He Will Be Scarred Up Or If May Be Some Of His Tentacles May Die Off. I Guess I Should Know When I Get Home From Work.

In the case of condy anemones, I've seen them cramed together in many LFS tanks with usually no harm.

I have heard that anemones of the same species can be together and be OK, but not anemones of different species then the one with the stronger sting will kill the other.
