Anenomes-please help!

I recently purchased an Anenome from LFS. To be honest, I am not sure what type it is/was. From the start it didn't look happy. By this I mean it shrank itself into a ball. For the first couple of days it stayed like this attached to a rock. Now it has dissappeared and I can't find it anywhere. My question is two-fold:what type of lighting do I need to keep Anenomes happy and if this Anenome is dead and in my tank, can it harm my fish and various inverts? Your info is much appreciated.

We have several anenomes. 2 died and there was NO mistaking it. They almosted turned inside out and then started falling apart. It almosted looked like they were throwing up (yuck). Anyway we got them out ASAP. Now we have 1 left and our clownfish (BOZO) keep it happy. Every couple of days we throw in a piece of thawed krill and Bozo feeds it. It still occaisionally shrinks into a very small ball, but then "wakes" up later.
Our lighting is a Helios (spell) which it helps with our corals. Plus it makes the fish look so much prettier.

Thanks for the info. Do you know if Anenomes are toxic when dead? My assumption would be yes. Like I said before, I can't find the sucker and I am afraid it could harm my other critters.

Very toxic from what we hear. We have only been at this "science project" as we call our aquarium for several months. He may have slithered under one of your rocks. Ours is almost completely under one of our live rocks and only leaves enough room for Bozo to sleep in.
The lighting we got at a saltwater store here in St. Louis called Tropics. www.tropics.com Kind
of expensive $250, BUT supposedly great for corals
(which we have several) and everybody seems to to happy, except Oreo our black/white dwarf angle with a cloudy eye. (????)
Any ideas?
