Can I have anenomes in a non-reef tank??
if yes, will a 110 watt 36inch high output compact fluoresent strip-lite on a 30 gal tank be enough lighting for the anenomes?( no actinic light, just fluoresent)??

Anemones are pretty difficult to take care of and I think metal halide is the only way to go with these guys.

I kept some Florida strains for years in a 75 with 2-2ft VHO's with no problems. It was one actinic though. The only problem was one kept eating my clowns... <img src="graemlins//confused.gif" border="0" alt="[confused]" />

From what I've heard, it depends on the anemone species. Many only last around 9 months in captivity, and people presume this is due to a slow dieing due to lack of enough light. However, others have found that their anemones do not require so much light as long as they are fed adequately. So I really think it depends, and to be safe, you should have strong lighting.
