Angel death

I had a fire angel for 1 year, no problems, then he died, from what I do not know. A month later I got a Bicolor and while I was carrying him up the stairs, the paper bag broke and he hit the floor, plastic bag stay intact. He seamed fine, but he was dead the next morning. I figured it was from the drop. Yesterday (1.5 months later) I got another Bicolor, He was dead this morning. HELP!
I have a 36 gal with a 20 gal sump for a total of 45 gallons. I have not had any other fish die during this time and the water quality is fine, although I do not have a kit to check micro elements.
None of the angels had tissue damage post death, but did have a clear jello like substance around them when dead and removed.

Did you get these fish all from the same store? Ask how they were caught. These fish are sometimes still caught using cyanide. They do very poorly if caught this way and often do not survive.
What is in the tank with them? Can you post your actual readings? How did you acclimate the angel?
