Angelfish v.s. Tang

After my vast amounts of time regarding their feeding habaits. I realize that half of the Angelfish spiecments are algae eater.
Now I question myself.
When I am to start up two of 29 gallon and a 55 gallon tanks. I will chose Angelfish as my top list over Tangs. If I get Angelfish that eat algae then I do not need Tang in same Tank?
That way I can control the algae population for them to eat.

First: a 29 gal and a 55 gal are both too small for any full sized Angel fish. However, the pigmy angels will do nicely if you house one in each tank.
second: There's no reason why you can't have them both inthe 55 if the tang is a small one. My sailfin and Flame Angel actually share the same nightime hideaway.

Personally, I prefer the pygmy angels to tangs and tangs wouldn't be very happy in a 29. You could have a small tang in the 55 as well as a pygmy angel or two.
