does anyone have an annularis angel (blue-ringed angel), Pomacanthus annularis? looks like a gorgeous angel, and they only get 8". pictures would be nice. what do you think of the fish?

Avoid Indonesian specimens and try to get a Sri Lankan one. The usual Pomacanthus behavior. Definately a "last guy in" kinda fish. One of the few pomas I'd ever put in a 75.

They'd do fine in a 75, not much room for friends though. Me personally I'd want a 125+ for him. I like my fish to acheive show quality. In a 150 I'd have him and a butterfly and a tang.
BTW, pictures do not do them justice, in fact how they look at the lfs doesn't either. They don't really get full color until after they settle in at home.

Heres my what it will fit in formula. I start with the standard 5 gallons for 1" of adult fish, so a 10" fish needs at least 50 gallons for health. Then I consider the crowdedness, I want the smallest dimension to be no less than 1.5 times his length, so a 75 is 48"x15", and that works. I feel a tank needs to fit both of these limits. The inches per gallon is overall, the dimensions just consider the largest fish.

Without going too crazy and listing everything... A butterfly; with a moderate to bold diposition, not too ornate or trailing finnage like a threadfin (he'd probably chase it) and not too big adult size, a Raccoon or Pakistani would get too big.
A Zebrasoma Tang, anything except a Sailfin would be ok.
If you get juvis they should all grow to a fairly good size, the angel about 8", the others about 5" each. You'd be right at the 1" per 5 gallon range.
Butterfly first, then the tang, then the angel.
Personally I'd pick a either a Saddleback or Blackback Fly, and a Scopas Tang.

Fish is 4 inches. Tank is a very well maintained 72 Bowfront. We do 20 gallon water changes every Saturday and we have an ro/di unit at the house. Oh, and we got him from saltwaterfish.com.
