Another Batch of Babies

ok, my other male had his babies. Thank goodness, I turned off the filter in the main part of the QT tank and turned on the one on the side. All three horses are in there too, but they will go back into thier own tank. I have had them out of it cleaning.
These babies are much biggger then the others. about twice the size.

I havent had any fry in over a yr. The batch that was born a couple of days ago, I will let go. They were born to a sick male.
This batch I will try my best.
The batch I had last yr made it 6 weeks.

what's the reason for survival issues? Lack of nutrients? nobody knows?

my problem with the first batch was nutritionalong with lack of experiance. I was new and didnt have the enrichments I needed. The more you try the better you get, just loke clown fish
There are plenty of people that are raising them, especially Erectus. Just not on this forum.

I see.. Thanks I've always found coral much more interesting than fish.. but I do find fish breeding interesting and I've always wanted to try it. I'd be really sad if I killed the babies though.

Did the male go a year before having another batch? Do they get pregnant more frequently as they get older?

no, this is a differant male. I lost the first one in a tank crash. This male is a bout a yr old.

Maybe it will be my turn soon. I see alot of courting, but nothing "fruitful" yet!

OK....It's been two days since the last pics.....

Sorry, with everything going on, I found out the hard way my tank wasnt ready and my brine shrimp was bad. I could not get any to hatch, and then the tank crashed. Just bad timing all together.
Hopefully I will be better prepared for the next batch.

Well, like you say, you'll be better prepared for next batch. I'm really sorry to hear that this one didn't make it, tho.
