Another Frag tank question

I am in the process of setting up my frag tank. The tank I am using is a 40 gallon high.....I have an extra 400W MH set up here. I'm not sure - overkill? I am planning on fragging Softies and SPS. I was thinking - softies low and sps high......
Thoughts??? I really don't want to buy another MH setup when I have on just sitting here.

I have seen 400w on a 20L so youll be fine. You will want to place it 14 inches over the tank and use a fan to keep it cool

Just me, but- if its a frag tank and your lookling for grow-out, not so much asthetics.
If SPS and LPS are in same tank, when feeding the LPS the SPS get overfed and can lose color.
Leathers with SPS can stunt SPS growth. Might pick one or the other if going for max results.
400 watts is fine, but thats alot of power. Might downscale a bit otherwise to offset the power consumption. JMO
