another hospital question

I am setting it up today with water from my main tank to get it going. My question is shoul I throw a few bio balls from my main filter into the hospital tank? They will not fit into the little cheap hang on filter I plan to use on it.

Yeah, you can do that. You can also put in a cupful of substrate from your main tank [just make sure that you pick out any little critters before putting them in the QT.]
