Well I have a case of ICH in my tank..No I don't have a QT nor do I have time to get one together and besides I also have inverts ion my Main tank so HYPO is not happening so please don't suggest and as title states I am looking for those who have used Kick Ich or Stop Parasites.
Question directly being for those who have had success using Kick Ich upon what time frame from start of treatment did the fish begin to look clean of it?
This same question goes for those who have used Stop Parasites.
Thanks for those who provided their experience and feedback

And before anyone says it..I know this topic of treatment has beeen beaten to death more than anyone cares to see but I could not find anything specific on results through the search hence the "new thread"
TIA,
Nick

I have used the kick ick with suscess. I followed the directions on the bottle and after the first dose I noticed improvement. The second dose was 4 days later and on the 5th day all ick was gone. I continued treatment for the last 3 doses and it worked great. It is reef and invert safe and I had no ill affects from it. I never used stop parisite. I did get a cleaner shrimp after the outbreak for my blue tang, not sure how much he helps prevent it but it has not came back. I also changed their diet to help prevent further outbreaks.

Thanks.....Yeah I am in the same boat....I got me a blue tang and pretty much f-ed up my tank... So far using Kick Ick I have lost 1 anemone of the 2 I had but hey ish happens.... I do have a cleaner shrimp now that is all over my blue tang and bi color angel. They actually do pit stops constantly to get cleaned up by him... I hope I am on the 50% half of positive outcome or else stop parasite is my next step... Please keep em coming folks..

I have used kick ich in the past with limited success. I did have in increase the dosage to get it to work. I also tried stop parasite last month and it was a waste of $$$.

If it matters my parameters for water are as followed and what I have available to me...
Nitrite:0
PH:8.2
ALK: 2.9
Calcium:400-450 ppm
Temp:79-80 degrees
Food: Frozen Brine shrimp, forzen Mysis shrimp, zoo plankton, pellets and I give a treat of dried kelp sheets for the tang and angel nips at it as well. I don't mix all those foods entirely allthe time but rather mix it up and just began to dose the foods with kent marine garlix xtreme.
I still see spots on the fish but they are eating extremely well with no signs of fatigue or stress and I also have added a cleaner shrimp and neon goby..... I am thinking of quiting the KICK ICH and seeing if feeding them a substantial amount of foods with good nutrients and vitamins help rid themselves of the ICH. I am also planning on getting rid of the tang for the sake that even if things work out and I do get rid of the ICH the weakest link in my collection being the tang will not be the one to blame.. LION if you read this please provide some feedback if possible.....I would like to have some kind of idea of what timeline should I see the ich drop off the fish if the product does in fact work? 3days,5 7, 2 weeks? AHHHHHH ok

Well, I am not a big fan of Kick Ich, but I have used Stop Parasite with wonderful results each time I used it. The only problem I have with your tank is the feeding regimen, as there is really not enough nutritious items in the fish's diet. The frozen brine is basically worthless, and should only be used as a treat. I would start using vitamins and Garlic in the fish's food as well.
When I have used Stop Parasite, all ich was gone in 3 to 5 days (just as a timeline).

Any suggestions as to what would be balanced in the diet of the fish I currently have?
Inverts: Cleaner shrimp, coral banded, bta
cleaners: turbo snails, blue leg hermits, neon goby
Fish:royal gramma, bi color angel, blue hippo tang, percula, mandarin
And I am really getting high on the thought of pulling the blue tang out of my tank.. Just to delicate of a fish for me to be on top of all the time.. :(
TIA,
Nick

Here's the diet I would have those animals on.
(Frozen) kelp, (freeze-dried) seaweed/ sea veggies, (frozen) formula 1, (frozen) mysis shrimp, (frozen) pygmy angel formula, and (frozen) zoo plankton.
If you do not have copepods in your tank for the mandarin, buy a bottle of live copepods as well. He will be very happy with that. You will only be able to find them online. If you need a link to them, shoot me an email.

I used kick ich along with garlic before. Seemed to work pretty well except for the fact that it melted my bubble coral :(

hey here is some advice as far as kick-ich is concerned i just started the treatment, but one thing you will want to get is some medicated food, why?because kick-ich is not a strong medication and it would be better to feed the fish some medicated food to also help the fish fight the ich and prevent future out breaks.hope that helps.

Well I stopped using kick-ich because the treatment wasn't getting any results at all except the death of my LTA but not sure if that was result of the medication or if he may have had a showdown with my BTA. Well since yesterday I did a 10% water change and began to use Stop Parasite in my tank and already seeing good results for being day2.... And yes I am feeding them a good variety of foods now and soaking with garlic before feeding. I can only hope the fish get better and then I will be pulling the blue tang out of the tank and hopefully she will sell to someone who can accomodate her in a MUCH bigger tank that she requires than my 46g

Everything sounds good in this post. Good luck on treating them, and good luck with finding her a new home.

I lost all my fish using stop parasite - even tho I caught it early. It was a waste of money to me. Of course I bought 2 HUGE bottles of it. I was very careful with PH too and still no luck.

Yes, I have never had it bother any of my fish, corals, inverts, or macroalgae. One thing you need to do is make sure you have a good alk and pH test kit so you can check both of these levels everyday.

Well, it would drop. It would not get too high. You first need to make sure you have a good alk level. If you have a proper alk level, your pH will be stable.
