Another Ich question and update

Hi everyone,
As posted earlier, My tank was exposed to ich, and I could not get my fish out with out hurting corals.
The redlip blenny died yesterday and ended up as a treat for my brittle star and today I found my Kole tang being digested by my anemone. I had both of these fish since I started my tank over a year ago, they will be missed.
My question is that the maroon clown and 6 line wrasse that is left, have never had any signs of ich while this all was happening.
I am guessing this is due to their hearty immune sytem. Will they be safe you think, or will they contract ich at a later time, now that the two fish who had it really bad have died?
Here is a pic of the anemone eating the tang..
Thank you

Ich is now in the tank and will soon be hungry looking for food. It could be that the living fish have a hearty immune system and can ward off the parasite.
I'd wait at least 2 mos before adding new fish. In the meantime, set up a QT for new additions going into the tank.

Hi Beth,
I was not going to add anything as you suggested for atleast 8 weeks.
The sad thing is that I have a QT and did put the royal gamma in it for 3 weeks and it looked fine, then when he went into the main tank he infected everyone :(
I will keep an eye on everything and see what happens.
Thanks again for all your help and advice :) This is a great BB. I don't know where I would be with out it :)

You can perform hyposalinity on new fish in QT, even if they don't show symptoms, as a means of ensuring that ich does not enter your tank. However, ich is in your tank now. Keep a very close eye out on your current fish. Feed them garlic soaked food!!

I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best :)

jscarb2,
Thats a good question. I think from what I have read, as long as the ich parasite does not or can not host on a fish for more then 30-60 days, it will die.
Atleast that is what I am hoping for :)
