Another PH question.

I took a water sample to my LFS and my PH was 7.8 so i bought some Seachem Marine Buffer. This stuff works for a bandaid but does not keep the PH up. So i went to another LFS and they sold me Seachem Reef builder because my PH and ALK was low. What can i do to keep my PH up with out having to buy all these addatives and dosing all the time?

figure out what is causing the PH to go down.. has it always been at 7.8? or has it taken a dive? also check your change water make sure the PH is where you want it, and use a teeny bit of buffer with top offs.
basically we need to figure what is causing the low PH

I can test my R/O water now if that helps,it is from my LFS. It has taken a dump. It use to be at 8.2 then when i tested my water before i was going to do a water change to do a comparison it was at 7.8 so i took a sample to my LFS and they read a low reading too.
