I am trying to get my tank back together. The new bulk head for my return are slip, not threaded like my old ones. My question is do I glue the pvc pipe to the bulk head under the tank or just slip it in, or do I need sometype of fitting?? Where I have circled- the other is a screwtype so i got that covered.

You need to get some PVC Cement, Primer, and Cleaner. First put the cleaner on the end of the piece of pvc and the bulkhead you want to glue it to. Then put the primer on it. And then the cement and stick the two pieces together. Then let it dry for 24 hours. Don't be cheap and just get the PVC cement. I did that when I was building my sump, and I ended up with a bunch of leaks. You should also glue any other fittings you might need to connect to the pieces of PVC.

When I tried using the s.c.r.e.w PVC connections I found that I had to end up gluing the pieces together to stop it from leaking and also it was hard to get the pieces into the right position because it was hard for me to turn it enough so that it wouldn't leak and not crack the fitting and get it turned the right way.
