i know my system needs an over haul but i have to deal with it for know. i recently asked about how to keep algea down in my tanks. i did put more of a cleanup crew in and it seemed that it was starting to improve. all my levels are fine although i still have to do water changes to keep the nitrates down. it was still a little high. friday there seemed to be alot of algea covering my cc bedding. i know ya'll like sand but i have to deal with it now. i have a 26 flat back hex with 20 pounds live rock. a small lion fish, a green wolf eel,a clown fish and the clean up crew. i also have 2 horse shoe crabs that come out at night. monday i got home and noticed that all the algea was gone. not just that on the cc but also all that was on the backing of the tank as well. it was by far too much for the snails and all to get rid of in that amount of time. can anyone explain this. all help is appreciated. i know that it is a good thing that the algea is gone but i would like to find out what happened in case it comes back. also i just put in a decorated crab about a week ago and all fish seem to get a long real well. i know that everyone is going to say that this tank is overcrowded but all seems to be going well. talk to you down the line thanks
