just wondering how far into cycling process can i start putting some clean up crew into the tank?
another question regarding clean up crew

I would wait until the cycle is finished before adding any type of cleanup crew. Inverts are sensitive to high nitrates. You could maybe have a shrimp or something, I had a shrimp in my tank during my whole cycle and he stayed alive. Probably not the best thing for them though.
