Another refugium question

Hang-on vs below tank refugiums: What type is better? Advantages? Disadvantages? Please share your experience with me.

Hang ons tend to be rather small...below tank needs to be pumped back to the display. Both do have advantages that are common with refugiums...increased water volume/predator free environment for pods/abality to grow macro algaes for nutrient export....personally I use a above tank/low flow/gravity return refugium on mine and it works great.
