ok, so last night i posted about my new clown getting white spots, and i came to the conclusion that it was more than lokely ich, but this morning when i woke up most of the spots were gone, however his behavior is very weird... he is swimming at the top of the tank almost vertical with his mouth up and tail down, letting the current from the powerhead push him around in a big circle. sometimes the current will flip him upside down and he will tumble behind a live rock, and he doesn't do much to stop it... now he is stuck behind one of my rocks lying on his side as the picture shows... i called the lfs and the guy told me there was not much he could do about the behavior, i just need to keep a close eye on him.
is my clown dying??
well that sucks! as i was typing this i went over to check on him once more only to see him lodged behind another live rock, so i carefully moved the rock to get him out and he just floated off... dead!! this is my first loss, and i'm really dissapointed. here is the picture of him lying on his side right before he died. at this point he was still breathing and moving his fins. :(

Sounds like he's stressing pretty good. If there is not another fish puting pressure on him he might just come around and be OK. But, as for now I got my own clown problems. Good luck. keep us posted on him.

Was he the only fish? If you have others it would be a good idea to quarantine them.

nope, i have a bicolor pseudochromis that is doing great, i'm pretty dumbfounded about the clown... i really wanted a clown long before i even got my tank, so i'm not going to give up on it... i'm going to do a lot more research and wait a month or two to see if maybe it was because my tank was so new... and then try and get another one... it's weird cause i only had him for two days and i miss him :( it was my first loss and i'm going to do everything i can to not let the same thig happen with another clown.
now it's kinda sad cause i have a bubble tip anemone that i got for him that is all lonely in my tank.
edit: since my tank is only a 10 gallon, and i only have the one fish remaining in there (along with some inverts) isn't my remaining fish basically in quarantine??

Sorry to hear about your loss. :( Losing fish is no fun.
I was wondering how you acclimated the clown?
If you saw white spots, that sounds like ich. Falling off is part of their cycle and then they rehatch and reinfect again. Keep an eye on your other fish cause it could get ich. Your inverts won't.
Also you said your tank was new. How's your water quality, like amo, no2, no3, temp, ph, alk?

Sorry to hear that! :(
I lost a clown to ich about a month ago. Luckily, he was the only fish in the tank (rest were inverts.) i treated my tank with ich treatment (invert. safe of course) and i just added another clown last night. I heard once you treat your tank, it could take up to 30 days to go away. Although, I don't know how anybody knows that for sure..
Anyway, happily, my perc seems to be doing well. Hope all is well with you.
