I got a smaller yellow tang, I have a 46 gal bowfront tank. Will he be ok in the long run or will he out grow my current tank, I have no plans on getting a bigger tank. Anyone have success with a yellow in this tank size?
Thanks

Long term I do not think it would be a good idea. While a yellow tang won't get as big as say a hippo or lipstick tang, they are active fish and need plenty of room to swim and graze.

They need at least 75 gallons. A small one would be fine in a 46 for now but unless your 180% sure you will get a bigger tank do not get one. They grow fairly fast too. So dont get one unless a larger tanks in the NEAR future.
