Antenna Goby with a Firefish?

Hello. My fish store just got in a beautiful new fish, an antenna goby. I can't seem to find much information about it online. I have a 37 gallon FOWLR tank with a firefish and two clowns. Do you think it would be safe to add the antenna goby? I'm a little wary since it's body shape is very similar to the firefish. Thank you.

Not an expert but both are rather peaceful. I don't sense that you would have a problem.

I'd wait for a few more experienced answers though.

Yes, they inhabit different areas of the tank so will be compatible.

Since you don't have a pistol Shrimp is there a way you can provide the goby with a cave? They naturally live in a small cave but they cannot dig. Perhaps a piece of PVC or stack a couple rocks for it.

Did not know that they couldn't dig!

Normally they hook up with a Pistol Shrimp (who can dig but doesn't see very well). They don't need the pistol shrimp but do best with a cave on or near the bottom. They'll hang out at the entrance to the cave so you needn't worry about them disappearing.

Here's a pic of the one I had:

Thanks for your help! Yes, I do have a couple of potential caves for the goby. I'm glad to hear that this beautiful fish is compatible with my firefish. Provided it's still at the lfs tomorrow, I'm going to buy it. Thanks!

Some gobies dig, some dont. My watchman goby digs like crazy. He's got a rock that he digs out one day then fills the next. Then starts all over again. But then, he's not a shrimp goby.
