well, if the garlic doesn't work, shoot me an email and I will send you a link for cheap live brine. Brine is not nutritious, but you could load it with vitamins until the fish eats frozen food.
My email is Ry84@msn.com

try phlanton or mysis chopped squid anything but brine if you want it to have a chance to live even cyclopeseze it needs very small meaty foods and yes the garlic is a good choice.lyretails are not very hardy fish seams to be the only type of fish I cannot get to live longer than a week in my tanks.so far I lost 8 of them. good luck

What the heck is that supposed to mean? A fish could live if it temporarily ate brine shrimp to get acclimated to the aquarium. And if you load the brine shrimp with nutrients like Zoe or Selcon, along with Garlic Extreme, it would be perfectly fine with brine shrimp for a little while. I have gotten many anthias to begin eating by using brine, and most of them, if they were hardy, would go on to eat frozen because they would get comfortable with eating prepared foods. (Please note before you start flaming me: I did not own many anthias. I used to work at an LFS and I would deal with them there. I don't want anyone thinking I have gone through a lot of anthias or something).
Yes, I would always suggest types of frozen food first, but sometimes you need to use live brine when the fish would not accept anything else. It's better than the fish not eating at all...
