Any body here have an octopus?

You should do a search using the search at the top. you will get great information there.
octopi require an escape proof aquarium because the are escape artists. They don't live very long in captivity only about 6 months. When stressed, they will ink the tank which is a mess and can kill it. Stay away from the blue ringed incase you haven't heard, they are deadly and I do mean deadly. It may sound odd but you can actually purchase one of these creatures over the internet for about 40.00. Please do some research before you purchase any octopus.

They also eat a lot, grow fast, and get huge. Do the search, we have had some great posts on them in the past.

I don't plan on getting one, I just wanted to know if anyone had one.

But they only live a year long so after a year your buying a new one.

also need a great filtration system cause ive heard they are very messy eaters. not to mention after all this work they spend most of their time hiding in rocks.

But if you do get one i hear they can get very personal, even to a point where it will only come out if you are in the room. They can also be trained to be hand fed but with a beak like that i wouldn't tempt fate.
