More information on your tank and set up is needed. What size tank, what type of live stock, what kind of lights and wattage, post specific water chemistry results for Alk, pH, nitrates, amonia, temp, salinity and anything else you test for. What type of filtration do you have and do you or are you dosing anything?

72gallon
Maroon clown, hippo tang, mandarin, damsel, clean up crew.
I have 4x54 watt t-5 lighting
Trite 0.0
PH 8.8
Trate 5
Alkalinity 300
amonnia 0.0
Salinity 1.022
Temp 78

the specific gravity is pretty low. i would raise it to 1.025 at least. how long has it been since light bulbs have been changed?

ph is extremely to high...need to lower that to around 8-8.3....SG is ok but wouldnt hurt to bump a few

whoops. no i didn't, but i think the salinity is a bigger issue. the higher pH gets, though, inorganics like ammonia get more toxic. how are you checking pH, and are you using some sort of commercial buffer?

I do my testing at my LFS. The bulbs and the fixture itself is actually brand new. I upgraded about 3 weeks ago. I am raising my SG slowly by using saltwater to top off. Should I do a water change to lower my PH?

Lighting shock? What were your lights?

Are the bulbs HO? And are they on individual reflectors? NO t5 lighting is no better than std PC and at 3 watts per gal thats not a lot of light at all. Also addressing the pH and salinity.. I agree here you need to address these issues and make changes... Very slowly, nothing drastic.

My lighting fixture is HO but does not have individual reflectors . I used to have a PC fixture. Could it be lighting shock? I think my Xenia died from this.

Possible yes, however IMO not probable.. HO Lamps although more intense than PC's without Individual reflectors are not that efficient.

how long have you had the anemone?...i know you said it has been like that for several weeks but when did you get it....if where you got it from several weeks ago had it under Halides or a big T5 setup then switching over to your lights could be a shock and actually may not be enough to keep it alive....i would do a water change to help the ph get a lower but continually raise the SG slowly...i had a problem my hydrometer and dropped mine all the way down to 1.014 so i added saltwater to the top off everyday and put an extra 1/2 cup of salt/ 5 gallons of water change

I bought the anenome from swf about 6 weeks ago. For several weeks he looked amazing under my old fixture (PC) and around the same time of the lighting upgrade he closed. I do top offs with salt water to raise my SG. This hobby is so intricate! It drives me nuts some times.

Some things you can do to better trouble shoot this issue. First as mentioned get your water chemistry corrected, slowly. Keep a close eye on the anem making sure its condition doesnt worsen. Offer it food regularly even if it rejects it offer it food again the next day and the next. Signs of extreme distress are gaping mouth for no reason, expelling intestines looks like spaghetti and check its tenticles sticky is good not stick is bad. Light shock could be one of the issues given the new light set up. And a week or 2 is not uncommon for it to hide out till it gets used to it.
