My friends lion was not well and the otehr fish bit its fins. Now the fish is healthy but can not longer stay upright because it has no fins. He needs to keep it separate from the other fish but does not have another tank and this is a very large lion. Has anyone seen anything that can be used in the tank to separte the fish? Can you direct me where to find such a thing? LFS doen not have anything. Thanks.

Breeding nets for freshwater tanks are sond by many stores. They have a small frame and hang on the inside of the tank. I would really consider a hospital tank though since the fish has a severe problem which is why it was attacked. The unevenness is probably not going to be that much of a factor.

A breeding net is very small, no way a lionfish will fit in one! You need a divider, most LFS carry them. If yours doesn't, try calling around to different stores. Another option is to use the lighting grids (eggcrate) that you can find at home improvement stores. As long as no small fish that can swim through the grids are involved in attacking the lion, it will keep large fish out and yet let the water circulate. You will have to cut it to fit though.......

my lfs doesnt have dividers either, so i cut pieces of plexiglass to fit the inside of my tanks. then i drilled holes in the glass so the water can circulate. Try to do that for the lion so he has a lot of room. also give him stress coat. I used stress coat on my lion when he was attacked by a clown trigger (bad idea to put the two together!) and he was able to heal rather quickly, good luck
