I did a partial water change on my 125 reef this week around 15 to 18gallons of new water and I also added a purple tang. This has been three days ago and my flower pot coral has really changed. The rock it is on is covered with empty looking tubes that once had 2-3 inch tenacles coming from them. There are only a few tenacles left. Is it possible that the tang would eat these? He is about 2 inches in diameter and grazing on algae and freeze dried plankton or do you suspect the water change. The flower pot is almost 9 months old and has been extending very well once the lights are on for awhile. Any ideas will be appreciated so I do not repeat this if it is something I caused.
