ok so im doing cleaning and maintence last night and while i was testing water, and watching it seemed like one of my clowns spazzed out, looked like a little seizure. anyone ever heard of this, shoud i qt him or not?? tank has been populated for a little over 2 months, amonia=0 nitrates=0 nitrites are a tad over 10, is this high???? any suggestions would help, it is also the first time ive seen him do this, hasn't done it since.

No, not really, I would do that just in case. Because it may be a disease, and it may spread. Or the fish can just be acting wierd. I'd keep your fish in the qt for like a week or two, to see how he is doin. If hes good for like a week or two, i'd put him back in your tank.

I wouldn't say that a nitrate of 10 is too high. nitrate isn't dangerous until it goes to 40 and over. A simple water change will reduce it. For myself, anything above 0 is too high for my tank and I do a water change. IMO better safe than sorry. As far as your fish freaking out, sometimes they just do that. Couldn't say for sure if he is sick and a Qt might be a good idea just keep in mind that stress can play a big roll here. Keep an eye on the other inhabitants see if you have any bully's or if anyone else is displaying the same sign.Good luck.

Like Trey and Playtime said, they do that.I've never heard of it,but I don't think you should quarantine him. That could stress him out and maybe harm him more!!!!

I would not recommend qt for him either. More fish are killed with rushing to treatment then would be if left alone in good conditions. Bad advice Saltwater4me.

Since this happened when you were cleaning it could be the fish became stressed for some reason. I would agree watch it first for any actions it does while you are not in the tank. It is very true that many fish do not do well once moved and the big decision to make is if it is not infectious is it better served to leave it alone for a while.

so after much watching first, i noticed a few things about their spazing behavior, they dont do it all the time, but really when they are together, like one will do it, and then the other will do it, and then they'll both sorta do it and bump into eachother. if it didn't look like they have epilepsy i would think that they were just playing around with eachother. if they are not sick, they should find a better way to mess around, get me all worried
