i have a bak pak 2r running right now and can get a bak pak 2 from a neighbor for 50 bucks---- is this too much to run on my 36g bow tank? or would it be a good idea for water turnover etc?

I think that would be too much...but that skimmer is cheap for that price...hey GeT ON AIM...i HAVE TO TALK TO YOU!

I don't think there can be too much of a good thing, most of the time. So, yes you can use the bp 2 along with the 2r for extra filtration or circulation. Whether it is needed is up to you.
