Any invert safe treatments?

Hello,
I have a 135g semi reef. Crabs, stars, shrimps and an amazing collection of muushroom anenomes. Today I noticed that my purple dottyback is develloping white spots. The othe fish seem ok although the scissortail hog seems to look different aswell. I tried catching the dottyback for quarantine, but to no avail. Too many hiding places with all the live rock.
I figure if it is a sort of parasite it is in the water anyway. Is there an effective teratment that I can use that will not harm my inverts? Thanks for any/all suggestions. TT

Well,it is a chore trying to treat disease in anything other than a fish only tank.A lot of people are suggesting using garlic soaked foods. If you have a good enough size quarantine tank to hold all of your fish, that would be the sure way of getting rid of the parasites.Put them in there with a copper treatment. But that would also mean tearing your tank apart to try to catch them.If you do a search on this forum, you will find many methods for it.But read carefully because some most of them are not safe for your inverts or corals.I use a product called greenex for prevention.Although I have used it for a cure.As with anything, some people like it and some don't.It has always worked for me.Another thing you could use for prevention after you get the problem taken care of is a UV sterilizer.I don't have one,but a lot of people do and have had no problems. How infested is the fish?If it is only 1 or 2 small spots,I wouldn't freak out yet.My fish get spots every so often that don't turn into anything.I would hate to see you go crazy trying to catch your fish for nothing. What do you mean by looking funny?Have you checked all your levels??

Well the problem seems to be lifting. I added some Reef Solution this morning. I know this is not a medication, but iI have heard of its miraculous effects on fish. In any case out of desperation I gave my tank a dose and when I got back from work the dottyback looked a lot better. Maybe it did not infact have a parasite, but those white spots were big & not normal. What ever the problem, I am monitoring the situation closely and crossing my fingers that I do not have a bug prblem.
I like the garlic idea. I will start to soak food in garlic oil. TT :p
