Any MEN out there have any trouble with SOY?

So recently I have been in the gym six days a week, doing hard training, supersets, and a ton of cardio. Ive dropped about 25lbs without really changing my diet all that much. (What do you mean a cupcake isn't lunch?!?) Anyways, one of my biggest problem foods is actually a drink, and that's milk. I have always loved milk. I know it's not the best because of the fat and calories, etc, etc. So someone introduced me to soy milk, which I just assumed was much better for you, because you just always hear "soy" and think "healthy". I actually really like the taste, and was all pumped up to switch to it, until I had a friend tell me it has estrogen in it. Then I read an article on mens health saying how it can really screw with a guys hormonal levels.
Any guys drink/eat soy often? And if so, have you had any issues?

I just recently finished off doing a round of p90x and while doing it was using soy milk twice a day. I used it in the morning to make a protein shake with and then again after working out in the evening as a recovery drink. Didnt have any negative effects from it, but I was really only drinking about 16-20 ozs a day. We did, however, stop giving it to my almost 3 year old twin boys when we started seeing more and more about the estrogen levels in it. From what I've read, unless you are drinking gallons of it at a time the estrogen levels wont have any effect on an adult. I was more concerned with my 30 lb boys drinking too much of it.

A friend was having issues with soy milk he's drank for years and switched to Almond milk which he really likes. Might be worth looking into.

Soy does have estrogen-like compounds in it, but the concentration is far too low to affect an adult male. I would worry more about the fact that it is an incomplete protein, lacking the essential amino acid methionine. Also, you probably released more estrogen from your fat stores when you lost those 25 lbs than you ingested with the soy.

Lactaid milk is normal cow's milk without the lactose. It is not soy-based, so no problem with phyto-estrogens.
