do i have any more room in my tank for another fish? If u dont know my tank is a 125gal with a coral catshark a SFE a blue cod grouper and a porc puff..I would like one or 2 more fish if possible..im thinking about a vol lion being my next addition.I wouldnt add anything for a few more weeks since i just added the porc and grouper..Are there any triggers that could go in my tank? I know i have to worry about the triggers with the shark...Any ideas would be great..thanks.

I am assuming you know that the grouper and shark will be outgrowing that tank in relatively short order? So what plans do you have for them? If you add more fish, IMO, you will be getting the current fish out even sooner, IMO, so that has to be something to really consider.

thanks for the reply. I have heard from many people that the shark will be fine in a 125gal..i understand that groupers do get large but i didnt know it would outgrow this tank...so i guess i will play it as it goes..if i see that he is getting to large than i will either upgrade my tank or give it away....anyone else have an opinion on this? I dont want to get into the whole shark thing cause i know everyone has a diff opinion on that but what about the grouper? will it outgrow my tank? if so how long down the line? I am definantly not against upgrading my tank. If i upgrade how large should i go for these fish plus some more? 250? 300? Thanks again

A 300 would be a good size tank for the grouper and shark. Both of them are defintely going to outgrow your tank in very little time.

If have worked with one of those groupers that was easily 2 feet long or so and very broad. It was first in a 40,000g tank and then in a 100,000+ g tank...I would say it won't work in a 125 for all that long.
I have also worked with a couple of dozen bamboo sharks and definitely feel that a 125 will be too small for it long term. Maybe a couple of years, but I do hope you will consider something bigger in the future. JMO.

Really, I can't imagine anyone with any knowledge suggesting a 125 for the shark. :notsure:

Yes, I know, but I have heard people say the same thing and I look at them like, "are you crazy?"
Some guy that came into my work told me that he read a book that said the max a cat shark needs to live is a 125! That's ludicrous!
I have worked with large sharks before and wouldn't even think about putting a shark in my 210.
