Has anyone have or seen cadlights tank? they have a 22g with a builtin refugium with pump and 138 Watt t5 lighting..for $369.
this seems better than an aquapod 24 with 150 mh for $330
i like the fact its t5 so no heat and less bulb changes. Plus it is a glass tank with curved corners.
im not promoting them or anything. just asking anyone's experience.

Their tanks look nice from their site, but I've never seen one personally. It doesn't seem like a terrible deal. However, a bigger tank with more powerful lighting for cheaper seems like a better deal to me.

with the aquapod, wouldn't you have to replace the bulbs every 8 months?
and i seen them go for like $60, then plus the added heat. the t5 would be every 18 months right?
the other is also made of glass so less scratches.. also has a refugium built in. how difficult is to mod an aquapod to add a refugium somehow?
anyone more advice?

youd have to scratch off the paint or vinyl it has on the back of the tank, and place a light there on the back, like using a metal box with light inside and velcro it and a computer fan to it.
i think ive seend the tanks youre talking about and the back is clear, those some seem pretty nice

i just learned that the aquapod is glass.. crapp ....this just makes my decision harder... hmmm
what is better having a cheap skimmer like the fission or modding the aquapod to make a fuge with some cheato... or both?
do you get that sparkling ripples on the bottom of the tank with 96 watts of t5 lights??
thanks you my wise reefers..

I run the two middle rear chambers on my aquapod as a fuge and didn't have to do any modifications. I keep the halides back far enough that a little light shines in on the rear chambers and it seems to work just fine.
The fission nano skimmers have been rated rather poorly in every review I've seen. There are some small skimmers that will work on a nano, but they are typically a fair bit more expensive.
The ripple effect is actually created by surface agitation. Any lighting should be able to produce it, but the wider spread on a tube light might make it less noticeable.
