Any Rock?

My tank has been cycling a while now and I have about 20 pounds of live rock in there now. can I jus throw any rock in there and will it eventually become live? someone at my lfs said something like this. its a 90 gallon tank.

not "any" rock
don't put granite, river rock, lava rock, and other non sea type rocks.
but any salt water base rock, even coral skeletons, will become live rock

Agreed. You want rock that is very porous and okay for saltwater. I get Tufa Rock and that works very well. It is indestigushable from my other live rock now...except the tonga branch. So go for base or tufa rock. It should look like it has a bunch of tiny little holes in it...imo that looks best and it is good for bacteria to thrive on. Also...you probably want more live rock.

yea I plan on getting more live rock. how long would it take the Live rock to colonize the new rock

whats the proper way to cure? rock n what does it do exactly? diffrence between one rock and another? figi rock good or bad? thanks
