I am in the Attleboro area but work in Brockton. I didnt know if there were any groups that get together and talk about SWF. I have seen groups in other states but nothing in Mass.

Are you continuously "window shopping"? I can not go into a LFS and leave empty handed.........bad, very bad. So I try to keep my visits to re-stocking supplies etc. I actually am getting an order from this site delivered tomorrow. I had picked up a pygmy angel at Denises about 4 or 5 months ago and she died last week. She was my favorite fish....miss her a lot and hope the next one is just as cool and lives longer. I also traded in a tempermental LMB I had purchased from this site for a two banded clown a few months back, they have been helpful to me over there.
What do you have/want??

right now i have a 40g fowlr
i am moving into my basement which is going to be finished in a month so anytime after that(3-5 months) i plan on something near 150g
in the tank a have 2 perc clowns, a yellowtail damsel, a coral beauty, a niger trigger, and a valentini(toby saddleback) puffer.... all of them 2 inch or so
* i plan on moving the trigger into the new tank
i am currently looking at getting a snowflake eel from patnoids in achusnet
*also will be moved
and some more lr, which will be directly after the move downstairs, dont want to move more rock than neccessary if i can just wait a month
and a new light fixture, one that holds 2 strips with a 10000k bulb and a actinic blue bulb to simulate dawn, noon, and dusk
i dont like reef tanks very much, im more into the aggresive fish
i have had the tank for a little over a year
when i move it i plan on taking each piece of lr and putting it into a bucket of sw from my tank which i will have the water level down to about 50% if not less then transport down 3 flights of stairs(currently in attick)

That trigger is beautiful. They are my favorite fish, I would love to have a large trigger tank some day. I joke with my husband that I will have one for my 'retirement tank'. Your fish and set-up look great.
I just got a replacement pygmy angel for my very much missed little fishy that died last week, a replacement shrimp goby for my pistol shrimp (the infamous LMB killed my first one), a blue reef chromis, a serpent star and a large toadstool leather. Very happy with all but the chromis. It has a couple of scaleless patches- would never have purchased this fish from a store and I hope it doesn't succumb(sp?) to an illness from the stress.
I will definatly give you a heads up before my next Denises trip. It would be cool if we could all try and meet somehwere this fall- a big SWF get together- we are spread from Brockton to Bourne at the moment.

Can you do it in steps? You will need water for the new tank anyway right? I would set up the sand bed first, then add your new water, transfer over live rock and lastly add exisitng water and stock. I have moved a tank but on a much smaller scale. If you are planning on using your sand from the 40 gallon it gets a little more tricky....and it sounds like you are. Maybe siphon off the water to a 5 gallon bucket (or two) and a lg rubbermaid container. Put the fish in the bucket(s), the rock in the bin with water and then move the 40 gallon tank with the sand down to the new tank, follow with rock container than fish? You can always make a couple of trips with the same bucket for transfering the water down right??
How are you going to get your 100 gallons of water? Do you have a RO unit?
Do you know if Denise's is selling RO water yet?

A good place to go is tropic isle in framingham (natick?) - not really S Shore, but kind of in the middle. They have a good selection of fish/corals, and I have found their prices a LOT lower the LFS up here on the N Shore (PJ's pet center)
If you know of any other placxes up here on the N shore let me know!

I have also heard about this place, but have never been there:
