Let's say I have a 60 Gal and get another 60 gal tank. Could I take from the existing tank water and use it for the new tank? How much water could I take off at one time? Would that shorten down the time it takes to get the tank running? What else do I need to do with a new tank that I want to prepare?? My tank is not the nicest and I want a new tank. But I have also to many fish in my tank. What should I do???
Thanks for the help.

i would start the new tank, and add like 5-10 gallons of ur old tank water to the new tank, just to get the cycle going, and get good bacteria build up. u will still have to cycle ur new tank, but the old tank water will definetly help.

yea, thats true, but there is also critters in the water, thats y some ppl dont use u.v sterilizers, because it will kill both the good, and bad bacteria in the water.
