SWF.com has some skimmers in your price range,however i have no experiance with the models they sell so i cant comment.

i've been doing a lot of research on skimmers myself and i'm in the same price range. i'm looking into the octo's or an asm personally.

I have always liked Euro Reef Protein Skimmer. I know they do a good job and yes I know I am paying a little more for the name, but it has been working for me for 5 years and only had to replace the pump for the first time last week
