any tips for mixing live and dead sand?

just curious if there is any tips to mixing live and dead sand, im removing cc and an ugf and making a sand bed.

Hi:
dead sand on the bottom, live stuff on top.
you can go as low as a10:1 ratio dead to live.

just lay the live sand over the top dont really need to mix it at all

you can do as small as a ration as you want but just remember that it will take just that much longer till you have a "live" sand bed. Other point, do not spread the live sand around leave it in clumps. (read that somewhere)
