well i'm so new i haven't even got my tank yet. but can you tell me where you got your live rock? i will be needing some in a couple of weeks or so. thanks for any advice.

I'm in east Baton Rouge, next door to Denham. Would love to trade, but only had my tank 6 months so nothing has grown big enough to frag yet.
skyhi, the best place I have found for everything, including the best live rock, is a place called Paradise Pet's in LaPlace. I know it's a little drive, but their quality and prices are worth it! Steve is the owner and a great guy.
I've gotten a few things from Paw Paw's pet's in Denham, but they don't have much of a selection yet. Mark's marine and Cajun Coral's are both expensive.
Hey, maybe we should make this thread a Louisiana thread, kinda like an internet saltwater club! What do you guys think?????????????????????

Doesn't mean we don't go in other places to ask questions, just means we share local info, i.e. pet shops, trading, etc.

Hey, I'd love to get in on a La thred! I haven't found any good stores around Shreveport, so I do most of my ordering online. I do get to Baton Rouge occaisonally, though.

Depending on how much you want to spend, there are several places around here. A couple are very reasonable, the other 2 have more selection, but make you pay for it! :scared:

I got my T-5's from my favorite place in LaPlace, $140, also got my 90 gal. a day R/O unit from them for $200

Definitely in an order! I hate having to pay $30 for shipping and the minimum order is always more than I need at one time. Email me - tmcelveen@sport.rr.com on when you want to get an order together. Only two LFs I go to here are Pet's First on Youree (Father/Son owners are pretty cool) and Pet Zone on Jewella. Neither have a very good selection though.

I just got a great new place to get corals and supplies. A local distributor just got his retail license. He is selling T-5's for $110.00 :jumping:
He has the best selection of corals I've ever seen locally. I got a 3' blue mushroom colony for $25, a 6" tooth brain (lobophillys) for $40, and a orange polyp colony on a rocl about 7"round for $40

do they have live rock? i'll be looking into getting live rock soon. the only other one i see locally and reasonable was on ----. and it's in franklin, texas. they said they'd ship it for 20.00 a box. but i could save a good amount if someone knows where i can get live rock at a good price.

this place I found has great live rock, most with good purple on it already. Like I said, he is a wholesaler that just got his retil licence and has the best selection of everything in LR, corals, and lights. I wish he had it when I first started! I'm only buying from him now!
