Went to my LFS today and purchased my first coral, a star polyp. Now a peppermint shrimp from the SWF's cleanup crew has eaten about a third of the star polyp. Appearently this shrimp has a taste for them. Any ideas what to do? Like how to catch the little guy amoung all the rock, he's fast.

Somtimes if you put your hand into the tank the peppermint shrimp will come out and climb up onto your hand (esspecially if you have had fish food on it. You can get them to the surface this way then catch them. I have done it this way a number of times but they are fast.

end (to make a funnel), turn this peice upside down, and then stick it back inside the other peice. punch some holes in it so it will sink. put some food in it, then sink it to the bottom of your tank.
Critter enters through the funnel, into the bottle, and cand figure out how to get back out.

we waited til lights out, and he came out to work on feather dusters, and we caught him with a net in the dark, wasn't easy, but glad to get him out

I've also read somewhere about putting a piece of fresh mussel somewhere that's easily accessible. Apparently all the janitors and crustys will gather around it and you can just grab him...
Don't know if it works...
Peace...
