So I have recently purchased the 150w MH upgrade canopy for my 24g nano cube. I also bought the jbj arctic nano chiller. I cannot for the life of me get this chiller to install smoothly. I have it up and running from 2nd chamber into chiller into third chamber, through another powerhead into tank. My LFS said that I have to put it straight from chiller into tank. How in the heck do I do that? There is no way. Please help me!!!!

I use an external filter to pump the water out of my tank into the chiller then out from the chiller into the tank again. Buy a pump and put it in one of the chambers then have it pump the water into the chiller and if the pump is strong enough, it will pump the water all throughout the chiller back into the tank.

I have a current 1/15th horsepower chiller on my 24. I have a pump that runs my chiller from the third chamber back into the third chamber, and then the tank pump circulates that water back into the ank itself. Its a tight fit, but it works great. You have to buy a more powerful pump for the chiller than the one in your tank because you lose a lot of gph due to lenght of tubing needed to go to the chiller and back again.

Yeah Its running fine with quite a turnover of flow. I am running a MJ-900 from second chamber then into the chiller then into the third, then another MJ-900 to put flow into tank. It is keeping the temp accurate so I guess its working. Just that the LFS told me I HAVE to have the output into the tank itself not into the third chamber. I call that a crock, my LFS is feeding me lines left and right. Stupid.

We actually cheated on our 24gal nano, instead of doing the chiller my boyfriend bought some plexiglass and a cheap fan from walmart, took as much of the excess crap off the fan and put it in the middle of the plexiglass and now it just pulls the heat out. With our regular water changes and top offs we've been doing amazingly well with this method as far as params go and we dropped the temp in our nano 7-10 degrees, depending on how long the lights have been on. just an alternative suggestion that i'm sure most recommend against but, like i said, we've had amazing results with it and we have the switch still attached to the fan so we can turn it on high/low/off whenever necessary. just need to keep up with water changes and keep an eye on the overall appearance of the tank for any changes in character
