Been looking for these classics kites for a while and my online search has finally paid off. These where the plastic delta kites with the big blood shot eyes and funky 70's style. Best thing is they are still even pretty cheap so I can order one of each kind.
I know it is kind of silly, but I swear that every other kite I have bought has only been bought because I thought they stopped making these.

We used to have daily 'kite fights' with these when I was growing up. My brother and I almost got our butts whupped big time because we kept breaking the strings of our opponents kites, and their kites would fly off into the sunset. The reason for the "arse whoopin'" was because our friends found out my brother and I would take the string tied right up by the kite, cover it in glue, then roll the string in crushed glass. When we got into the kite fight, we'd twist our string around the opponents string, tugged it a few times, then SNAP. Another kite bites the dust.

We also had 'legal' fights whereby we'd all tape double-sided razor blades to the top sides of each kite. Then when the 'dog fight' began, it was Last Kite Standing as far as which kite had the fewest cuts in it and could stay up in the air. We all didn't care much because back then (60's and 70's), you could by these kites for $1.00 a pop.
