I have an 8 inch long panther grouper that is by far my favorite fish. However, the time has come to dismantle the tank and I have to find him a home. I will gladly give him to anybody with a tank that I feel is appropriate for him. Anybody who is interested just send me pictures of your tank with a list of other fish and size. I live in NY and this fish is free for anybody with the appropriate tank. I have had him since he was less than an inch long and he is very friendly. He eats right out of my hand.

well considering hes already 9 inches and only half grown yeah. I want him to be in nothing less than 180. They grow to 18 inches and your tank is only 18 inches in width. That doesnt really give him any room to move. And I am not willing to ship anyway.

also, I dont mean to pry because it isnt any of my business but if the puffer in your avitar is in your 125 he will also outgrow your 125 very quickly.

Panther groupers can obtain 28 inches in length at adulthood, even a 180 is too small for one of these big boys<IMO

the drs site recomends 300 gal smallest they also recomend 50 gal smallest for a yellow tang to thrive we all no thats not true its to small and if they have small tank sizes and 300 is what they have for a panther grouper wouldnt 180 be way to small?? just a thought

just bumping through threads here and seen this one I have a 12 inch grouper(panther) in my 125) i have had him a couple yrs now.accually quite a lazy fish. but i also have a 300 for future placement. this isnt the type of fish you want to keep unless you keep only large fish with it they are pigs and will eat anything that will fit into its mouth.its a cool looking fish but needs alot of food and free swimming areas
