Anybody with the Magnum 350?

My new unit runs and pumps but after a few minutes of operation the level of water in the canister will start dropping. After running a full day or so, it can drop an inch or two, sometimes more. It is still putting out a good flow into the tank but this air gap bugs me! When I turn it off to feed fish/corals, the accumulated air burps back into the tank through the intake tube but as soon as I start it up again, it the level in the canister starts dropping again.
I have it sitting on the floor with the top about 10 inches below the bottom of the 55gal tank. The intake is at one end of the tank with the long extension tube in place and the output is at the other end.I don't see any leaks in either tube and have tried adjusting the inand out shutoff valves, with no sucess. Anybody have some advice on this?
Thanks,
John

My daughter has used the 350 on a tank in her room for 2 years. It has always had a water level like you describe.

If you have even the smallest of leaks it will suck air in rather than water out. Make sure the hose connections are tight and also make sure the filter is at least 3 feet below tnak water surface level.

Do you have the quick disconnect on your hose. If you do than close one side take the other side and add water. Tilt the magnum to let the air out of the top then add more H2o. Repeat till all the air is gone. Also use a lub on your O ring before you put the cap on. Hope this help. I have 2 of them with no air or loss of water.
