Anyone Else: Plenum System

teh plenum, IMO, seems to be as good as a dsb, but is more work to set up, and much more work to change or work on, i know of a few people who have plenums, and cannot complain at all, but say that if they ever set up a new system that they will use a dsb, because of the fact that the plenum is just more work(only to set up and replace or work on),but to have, they seem to be as good as a dsb

What makes you want a plenum over a DSB? Te DSB is easier to set up and just as if not more affective.

Diatom: Just checking it out. DSB sounds good, but I don't know the amount of sand (or cost!) to set that up right away. (Though I'm eager, but not in a hurry). Also, How do you siphon sand? Do you just rely on your bottom feeders and circulation/filtration to clean up any leftover mess? (In the 20 Gal, I have CC and siphon it with my 25% water change. Though I have to admit, not much garbage to siphon with the hermits). Sandy

no need to siphon a dsb,
as far as how much, i believe if you use the search function in the top left, you can look up calculator and you may find it that way, i do remember some people posting it before
