only thing i've lost from buying on this site is a lettuce nudibranch, all my fish and inverts that i've bought here are doing fine.
personally i don't recommend the snail shells though, they send me 50 astrea snail shells and my hermits wont go near them.

Yep, I have always had great success ordering from here. I have never had any complaints whatsoever. They ship their stuff so good that they even shipped a red sea pom pom xenia in perfect condition (something that is extremely difficult to do).

Ive ordered 3 times and am very satisfied. One order had a skunk cleaner came with a hole in it and it died but was replaced with no problems

I ordered some inverts and corals and all came in good condition. I only lost one coral and that was my fault.

id like to get a porcupine puffer in the future, probably in three months.
usually around here they arent offered too often, but on this website i see they often have them.
do porc puffers ship ok? the small 2" ones?

now that's an interesting question. I'd be a tad afraid it would puff up during shipping...they are shipped to my lfs all the time so i'm sure there's no problems doing so, but i'd be a little nervous personally.

I've heard good things about ordering from this site. But don't you want to see the specimin before you buy it? I typically like to examine the color, eyes, behavior and see the fish eat to make sure it is in perfect health. Sorry swf.com... not trying to cost you a sale but JMO.

its a valid opinion though. i've shifted from feeling that way though.
think about it: the fish can be doing fine in the LFS and you only get a 2 day guarantee AT MOST from them, and a week can go bye and it dies. you're out the money.
online sites give upto 14 day guarantees, and i believe its no questions asked. that beats watching a fish at a lfs IMO.

True, I guess that the other component that I forgot to mention above is that I like to find the individual who is the right size for my tank. Although I have seen that this site offers size ranges for the fish they sell. Are their size approximations are accurate?

i've only bought a fire fish from here, and it was. the invert sizing was dead on as well, but that's probably not surprising.

I generally have to use online fish sellers, my local lfs have no guarantees and the last time we went there there were 3 fish dead in their tanks. I wasn't impressed. Not to mention the mark-up on dry goods.

well, to be honest, everyone is entitled to a profit. doesn't mean you have to pay it, but they do have certain overheads that online merchants dont have. I'll never tell someone they are overpriced, but that doesn't mean i'll go back.

very good!
the reason id have to buy online is because porcs rarely come in around here, and when they do they are huge!
id rather start out with a tiny boy :)
so he didnt puff up and break the bag?? hehe

My friend had great luck all the time but I had bad luck. Both fish were DOA. To get the return I had to ship them back packed in salt. Took a long time to get the money back. To get the fish sent again I would have had to hit their price minimum again. Other places I tried I had better luck and the one time I had an issue it was a phone call only and my money went back o the card ASAP - no returning the dead fish.
I will say delivery was very timely and the folks were polite. I just had bad luck.
I would try again, though. I have some stocking to do soon. If you can pair up with someone to split the cost that would be cool. That is what I will do next time.

I just received an order from here last week. 5 of 10 turbo snails were DOA. Foxface Rabbitfish looked rough and wouldn't eat from day one and died within week. I have shipped back but inverts are not covered under DOA policy and Rabbitfish was not DOA so I only get store credit, which is useless because I have to spend $79 plus $20 "processing" fee and fuel charge. So for the low, low price of $99 I can get my Rabbitfish replaced. Plus the fish was $25 to begin with so by the time I pay the $20 processing and fuel charges; plus my postage back to SWF, I am getting less than $5 real credit toward the fish. That's no guarantee IMO.
